Building out a new system as many of you know, and got the first component today. An Enermax Liberty 500W PSU. Installed really easily (which *doesn't* happen with me and psu's), everything is running beautifully, and the cables are nice and soft - easy to hide in nooks and crannies so you can't see them. The manual is COMPLETE crap, however, so a few questions.

It has one 120mm fan (boo, i'll prolly strap an exhaust on the back with zipties) on the bottom of the psu, sucking air in. In the manual, on the website, and on the box, it says the fan is controlled "intelligently." When things are hot, it speeds up, when things are cool, it slows down. Does anyone know if I can get control of the fan and run it at a speed I want to run it at, or am I stuck with it being "intelligent?" If so, how? No searches have turned up anything. I also can't tell how fast it's running, but that's a mobo issue. Probably have it hooked up to the wrong fan header (I get only two readings from speedfan - northbridge and cpu fans). It reports another header that can read RPM, so I'll find it. Just looking at the fan, it appears to be moving extremely slow and I can't feel a bit of exhaust coming out of the back grill.

Before, my system's PSU (an older enermax eg4465p) was stretched to the limit. I wasn't able to voltmod my CPU, video board (eVGA 6800GT), or memory (Mushkin 2-3-3-5 DDR433). Should it be safe to mess around with voltages to see what kind of clocks I can get out of my soon-to-be defunct components? The new PSU is reporting it has tons of headroom.

Perhaps dumb questions, but PSUs have always been my weak point as far as hardware goes. Just pure confusion.

Can't wait to get the rest of my planned setup running on this thing. Despite the relatively low wattage, it's pretty beefy. So far the best I've owned.

Thanks for any help, everyone. :)
