My class was throwing away extremely old PCs. I selected a case to mod out and have fun with. It's one of those old PCs with the tubro button. I shall call it, Turbo Compy!

All I have to do is decide on a color. Either a Metallic Green or Metallic Red I think it will be. Any suggestions?

BTW: I'm actually going to put modern parts in it. I'll post pics when I finish.
 
Good luck converting that bAT to an ATX.

I think metallic green would be best for this moldy oldie.

Any plans for the turbo button? You could make it turn lights and stuff on, I suppose.
 
I planned on using the turbo button as power and reset as reset. Because with the power switch both states are on, when switch is depressed it's closing the circuit on one wire, when it isn't depressed it closes the circuit on another wire. So it's on/on not on/off. I'm thinking about connecting like one color scheme of lights to one on then a different scheme for the other on. Not quite sure yet. Also the little black area where it showed the number when you pressed turbo, there is just enough room for a temperature display(how convenient).
 
Oh yea on the BAT, I was thinking I could spot weild a ATX tray on there, who knows. That will come in the future.
 
You could easily do that but youll also probably have to, convert the back as well, now i might be wrong but i think in those older computers, the pci boards went upright so there might be a little offset there.

I remember those old computers, from elementary school. I would love to piss off the librarians by pushing the turbo button and theyd go "DONT DO THAT!!! YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING" the sad thing is I could have truthfully told her that I knew twice as much about what I was doing than she did :D

Shouldn't be too hard to convert, I had zero problem converting my MicroAT case in PC Repair class to full ATX case. Just mount the motherboard sideways and bend the side of the top panel up so you can access the rear IO ports. Worked like a dream 'til I got yelled at for "Destroying school property" We used these little plastic stand-off things that were like the standoff and the mounting screw in one piece, and they bent quite nicely. Just put like 2 or 3 of them in the holes where the MicroAT mounts happened to line up with the ATX board and I was set. :) Use your imagination, can't go wrong. Worst case just use double-sided tape.
