The time of year is almost here to build a new PC.
Here are my preliminary specs.

Valkyrie

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 FX 55
(Debating the FX53 or 53 939)
This will be my second AMD system (first was a 300mhz heh) so if anyone wants to let me know the virtues of any of these chips over the others please do.

Mobo: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe

Memory: 1gig OCZ EL PC 3200 Revision 2 (2x512)

HDD: 2x WD Raptor 74gb

Video: 2x GeForce 6800 Ultra

Sound: Audigy 4 Pro

Cooling: Liquid Cooling & Forced Air

Case: Modded Super Tower (From 1998 OH YEAH A CLASSIC!!!)

Power: ENERMAX 660W


Now yes these are some high specs and yes I realize certain items aren’t out at this point…
I like to do heavy research before I build.
What I am looking for is some feedback…
Do you think the FX 55 is worth the bucks?
Do you think 2x 6800’s will be worth it?
Is there a better ram choice?
Etc…Etc..etc..

The last PC I build was a p4 2.4c…I built that to see how cheaply I could buy a great OC system. This time I’m willing to drop a huge chunk on a monster.

BTW This is pricing out at just under 4k at the moment...Not too bad considering a dual PII system I built in 98 was about that =/
