So yesterday I was at my computer when this ungodly screeching started. I turnedt the comp off looked inside and there was a stringaround my video card's fan. I took the string off and booted again and computer wouldn't post, after trying a few things I decided to reseat the processor and low and behold the pins were bent on the thing. As I'm bending the pins back, of course I notice that one of them is missing...

Now I need to either get a new processor or try and solder a new pin back on (Where would I get one...). Since I have an old 754 pin I thought it would be easy to find a replacement, but I find 2 different processors that I just can't make up my mind against.
There's a 3200+ Newcastle, and a 3700+ clawhammer. The price isn't too much of a difference, but I'm wondering what other difference I'll find besides the speed. I won't be overclocking much, but I can if it comes down to it. As it stands, I'm leaning towards the clawhammer. Is this the right choice, or should I go with the newcastle?

Buy a new one definitely.
Choose either one of those you are looking at. If you rather not OC much then get the 3700+
If you prefer to OC and save some $$ get the newcastle.

im of the mindset that 754 is not worth putting money into.

You will get much greater performance from a refurb 939 board, and a 3000+ venice.

One reason I don't want buy the refurb mobo is because I don't want to upgrade my AGP video card, which I just upgraded recently.

So what should I do with my processor, new keychain?
