I just ordered a new Powercolor Radeon 9700 Pro off Newegg to upgrade from my shoddy Sapphire Atlantis 9500.

My inquiry deals with those that use the same card. Please post success stories of SoftModding or using RivaTuner to overclock the card. I'm really interested in the results.

I was able to get to 17104 in 3Dmark2K1 with my rig, although long term it wasn't stable at that level. I used Rage3d to tweak mine - haven't checked but with the meager OC I'm getting I must have the 3.3ns ram instead of the 2.8
 
you will love it....20k on my system with it at everyday settings, will be going for 21-22k tomorrow (some new parts are coming:D ). This card lets me play Halo (which is among the hardest games to run) at 1280x1024 with EVERYTHING cranked to max including specular and shadows:cool: and still pull 30-110 fps. Never met a game that I couldnt max out with this yet (well except for dxII:IW but that is the fault of the CRAPPY coding of the game...). I can play ut2k3 with 6xAA and 16xAF at 1280x1024 pulling never less than 50FPS. My best investment in my computer system along with my 2.4c, hands down.
 
Well, my main concern is if I can achieve a similar core clock and overall output to a 9800 Pro's level, considering they have the same amount of pipelines regardless of the older chipset.

I really want some good overclocking from this card and I wanted some possible feedback from other people with the same card too. I'm definitely anxious to use it though. Bloody FedEx not shipping on the weekends!
