New Portal Screenshots

err.. I don't know if its just me, but the screenies don't look that impressive. It looks like HL2, but worse.. lol. Maybe they didn't have graphics settings cranked up?

I dont think Valve is focusing on graphics for this one. I think they are more focusing on the gameplay.

From what I saw in the videos, the gameplay looks pretty sweet IMO.

I can't wait for this game! I'd seriously pay for it now if only valve would release it. I can't wait until the end of this year for HL2 E2

Yeah, so far, everything I have seen of this game is in rooms with bland concrete walls. I have seen nothing very eye catching. As far as the gameplay, the portal thing is a neat concept, but it will wear thin pretty quickly if it is the only tool used to get through the game.

It looks more like they are just using the portal game as a test bed, before implementing these game play features into HL2, rather than just making a stand alone game. Am I wrong?

These new screens actually have more detailed textures, which seem to take away from the game. I liked the more bland, cube-like pictures/textures which, I feel, put more of the focus on the portals and their positioning then on what the room looks like. It really seems to detract from the feel of the game.

And with those shots, my worst fears are confirmed.

There's only 19 levels.

I was hoping for upwards of 50 levels, but 19 won't even wet my appetite for hardcore puzzle action.

What happened to the depth of field effect they had on the gun? Thats lame if they took that out...
