Hello everyone. I'm in the process of building a new PC because at this time I run a pretty outdated setup, and it's a little tough to play HL2 with 30 fps and run 3DS Max. Right now I have a 1.6ghz Pentium 4, 256mb of Ram, and a GeForce 2 64mb. I've saved up the bigger portion of the rig I want and I will be buying it within the next two months. I am very open to suggestions, so any input is welcome.

Case:

Total: $2,204.52 CND (with tax and shipping).

Hopefully when the prices on 6800GT's drop, I will be picking one up and going SLI. By the way, is it possible to run two 6800GT's in SLI if one of them is overclocked and the other isn't? Regards, Abstractionist.

That case is really ugly IMO and I would not use that PSu that came with it. It is junk.

I also like the Logitech Elite keyboard. Also it looks like you won't be overclocking so I would just get Corsair Value Select. Then you may be able to get a slightly faster CPU.

@GooG: He lives in Canada ;)

@ GooG: Like KoolDrew pointed out, I live in Canada. Newegg doesn't ship to Canada, and therefore I can't buy it from there. I can get someone to ship it to me, but the customs fees are too intense.
@ KoolDrew: For the keyboard: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=379625&Tab=1&NoMapp=0 looks good, but I was going for something with a slim key design so it doesn't make very much noise - that's not 100% though. For the ram, the Value Select is about $55 less than the XMS series. I need the computer to last me for at least four years, and it's just more comforting to know that I can overclock if I'll need to :) Besides, you can't really upgrade the CPU for $55. As for the case, I think it looks really nice - http://www.831pc.com/as1.jpg. Also, I heard that the PSU is pretty stable, and not low-budget.

I was also thinking about getting the MSI K8N Platinum SLI keyboard.. Any more advice?

That Logitech Elite keyboard I recommended is the best keyboard I have ever used. It also does not make much noise when typing. If you want to try it out for yourself you could go to a local shopp and they will likely have it. I got to try it out before I bought it.

Also I highly recommend getting a different PSU. If you check the sticky in the PSU section you would of seen this

So without Further ado, I present to you the list of Un-reccomended and Unscrupulous Power Supply Companies

Achieve
Aerocool
Allied
Aspire
...

Aspire is on there for a reason. The PSU's are not recommended. Get a different PSU. The PSU sticky I took the above from should help you out in choosing a PSU.

Looked through the list, as suggested :)
What do you think of a http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=674632&CatId=106 and a http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1384989&CatId=0. Will that give the rig sufficient cooling? What if I decide to go SLI later? Will the PSU handle, and will I need extra cooling?

Perhaps this is the better choice for a PSU - http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1116594&CatId=106, but the Vantec is SATA ready, and I don't want to buy extra cables.

The cheapest I would go for SLI would be a Enermax 535W Whisper II EG565P-VE

I've picked some new parts for the rig, and I'm hoping I have pretty much nailed it for now. Also thinking of going with SATA-II.. it seems like the right thing to do at the time. I have the option of waiting for the Western Digital SATA-II Hard Drives, but I imagine they will be pretty expensive having the 16mb buffer and all. Anyway, here is what I narrowed it down to:
