Hi,

I'm currently using a Dell desktop with Win7 on a SSD drive.
I got a new desktop PC, also Dell, and was wondering if I could just swap the new HDD with my already installed and customized Win7 SSD from the old system?

Does it work as simple as that or do I have to reinstall and tweak everything from the beginning?

Thanks a lot !
Josh

Theoretically it should work. As for the swap I wouldn't. I would combine both the ssd and hdd unless you are using both desktops. there is no harm in trying though

TheSoldier, good idea, thanks! Was planning on adding a secondary HDD to the SDD since it's limited space.

You can use some tools included with Ultimate Boot CD if you want to clone drives.

Thanks all! Completed a backup then switched drives, powered on and everything went smooth - had to install new network drivers to get online though.
If anyone's trying to upgrade this way, it can be done, just get network drivers before the swap ;)
