I am looking to build a new PC and use these parts:

DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR
AMD64 3200+ Venice or 3700+ San Diego
Zalman 7700 CPU Cooler - Copper
OCZ EL Platinum Revision 2 1GB
2x HITACHI Deskstar 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB
SAMSUNG Beige 16X DVD-ROM
2x BFG BFGO68256UX
THERMALTAKE SOPRANO VB1000BWS
Enermax EG701AX Noisetaker 600W

Any thoughts?

Ditch the OCZ and get some TwinMOS Speed Premium.

I hope those hard drives aren't intended for RAID...

Why a normal DVD drive and not a DVD+/-RW? They're cheap now.

Thermaltake, ick.

Why wouldn't I use those drives for RAID? Sata/300 should be plenty fast.

Because it probably won't do you any good. You're bouncing for SLI so I'm assuming this is a gaming system? RAID is for redundancy, high user environments, sometimes for working with HUGE files. Won't do you any good at all for gaming and might do some harm. Aside from costing extra for something that won't improve your system.

^^ yes. a lower access time will give you the most benefit, and raid doesn't really do that. a single raptor will though :D

I thought that RAID 0 was non-redundant and made writing and reading a little faster.

The raptors are a little pricey for me and their size right now. I have X for a budget and managed to squeeze all this in just under it.

Heh yeah, my Raptor 74GB does wonders for my XP reinstall time...*cough*...um...

Anyway you can pay for most of it with that extra hard drive's funds. It'll probably do you more good than that second video card did.
