New PC? or iBook?

I'd go with the Mac.

• 640MB DDR266 SDRAM (128MB built-in & 512MB SO-DIMM)
• 60GB Ultra ATA drive
• Combo Drive (DVD-ROM/CD-RW)
• AirPort Extreme Card
• Bluetooth Module
• Keyboard/Mac OS X - U.S. English
• .Mac Promotional Bundle
• Extra Battery - iBook 12-inch
• APP for iBook - Enrollment Kit
• 12-inch TFT XGA display
• 800MHz PowerPC G4
• ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 w/ 32MB DDR video memory

Subtotal $1,920.95

I can't think of another PC manufacturer that can match the Apple build quality other than IBM. I'm not familiar with tech support for either company though. If you were to go PC, it seems that centrino is the way to go but will cost more than 2K. But you'll probably get better battery life than the Mac.

Please note that I am a AMD fanboy :D Good luck!

ok next question for all you who dont mind...

How is OSX compareable to WIndows XP

How is OSX compareable to Liunx

booox2! the apple site!! :p

OS 11 won't be out for a while (prolly G6).

and that software should run nice and speedy...look at it's requirements...
Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G5 processor or with a single 500MHz or dual 450MHz or faster PowerPC G4 processor
Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later
QuickTime 6.1 or later
384MB of RAM (512MB recommended)
CD or DVD drive for installing Soundtrack.
DVD drive for installing Apple Loops (optional)
5GB of available disk space required for installing application and content

you're gonna have 1GHz, and 512MB RAM, you kill the requirements!

WinXP: you boot up, log in... click the Firefox icon on the activity thingie and click you bookmark or type "hardforum.com".

Mac OS X: boot up, log in... click the Mozilla icon in the Dock and click your bookmark or type "hardforum.com".

GN/Linux/*BSD: boot up, log in, write "startx" (or whatever)... right click and start Mozilla and click your bookmark or type "hardforum.com".

For me to be more specific YOU'll have to be more specific.

"OS11" is probably coming out in another six or seven years. They increase the version by 0.1 per year.

I can understand the OS aspect of it. I've been using Windows since I was 12 years old, and a few weeks ago I was in the computer lab here at school and the had a Mac setup. I thought I would check it out, but it was incredibly slow just to boot up, and I didn't know how to do anything on it. Wheres the start button?!?!? So I logged off ASAP.

Hahahahahahaha! :D
