yo guys this is my first post, so be nice :)

atm ive got this system from cllonline.com

http://www.cclonline.com/product-in...category_id=491&manufacturer_id=0&tid=mbb0020

i also have an ATI HD 2900GT

im looking to upgrade:
CASE
RAM
CPU COOLER
FEW OTHER COOLING BITS

but im lost on what to buy :( ive been looking at the threads on here and came up with 2 cases the:

http://www.cclonline.com/product-in...category_id=237&manufacturer_id=0&tid=pc-a05b
And
http://www.cclonline.com/product-in...ategory_id=237&manufacturer_id=0&tid=pc-v350b

the v350 is small which means im limited on what cpu cooler i can buy, where as the a05b is ok as far i know.

i have come up with 2 ram options:

http://www.cclonline.com/product-in...gory_id=770&manufacturer_id=0&tid=ocz2a8002gk

and

http://www.cclonline.com/product-in...y_id=770&manufacturer_id=0&tid=gb22gb6400c4dc

not sure if the board supports 800 mhz tho.....

cpu cooler im just lost, i want silence but performance, with out going water cooled

PLEASE ASSIST :(:D

Do you want a mATX case or an ATX case?

(NOTE: these are newegg links. You may have to search from other sites depending on where you live)

Here's two that I suggest:

SILVERSTONE SUGO SG02B-F mATX case (just ordered one myself)
COOLER MASTER Centurion 590

The V350 is also a nice case, but, I know little about it. Some else would have to chime in.

Your board does support DDR2 800. Here's a god kit. G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB)

What Power Supply do you have?

As far as coolers... I'll let someone else chime in on that to, I'm not the greatest in that area, but it also depends on what case you decide to go with.

Ops is correct. The CPU cooler size will very much depend on your case choice. SFF cases dont allow for big coolers like the ATX cases so your choices are somewhat limited. However if you are not going to overclock (you didnt say if you were or not) then a hsf cooler is a moot point. Just use the retail hsf or get a small hsf that will fit and run quieter and possibly cooler. Also if you are not going to overclock your case choice will be easier.

I'm not really up on what that AMD CPU and mobo will do as far as overclocking goes so not sure if it can overclock but if you plan to overclock then your choices are fewer and you'll have to narrow it down more to what you can fit inside the case. So my advice is first ask yourself if you plan to overclock the CPU or not.

Edit: If you are not overclocking then your main problem will be choosing a case *you* like the looks of and fit whatever size video card you want to stick in it. A psu of 450w-500w is probably what you are looking for as well. If you are wanting to overclock then it'll be more like 500w-600w. But shouldnt be higher than that although many get the Corsair 620w for some bigger SFF cases that can fit it for any and all future upgrades.

i wud like to overclock the cpu, not sure how high it will go tho :S

ill look for that RAM in the uk ty :)

but like i said i dunno what case :(, my psu is a 650 watt cooler master just bought it cost me 50 quid, the reason im lookin at the two lain li cases is just the looks, they look sweet, if i chose the v350 id need a new board wudnt i :S

yes, as thats mATX only. You can only cool so much in a mATX case, so if you wanna OC, bear that in mind.

i have a v350 and i love it. if you do go the v350 route, the best cooler you can fit is the noctua nh-c12p, which is quiet (uses the noctua p12 fan which is known to be one of the best quiet fans today while still performing well) and performs very well. this cooler can compare to other tower 120mm heatsinks and it would allow you to OC. only thing about this cooler is that it is expensive, retails around $65.

id like the v350 is it recomended for gaming then?? because my gpu gets very very HOT!!!!
is it advisable to put a quad core and 4 gig or 8 gig of ram in one?? and which is teh best matx board out atm??

Of course it will be fine for gaming. All current GPU's run hot, theres no getting around that. 8gig of RAM is really overkill unless you multitask like a mofo or have programs that will actually use that amount of space.

For motherboards, If your overclocking to the extreme and don't mind paying exra: LANPARTY JR P45-T2RS. If you want a stable yet good overclocking board without paying premium: ASUS P5E-VM HDMI

sure why not, people have put 4870x2s in the v350, as for quad core, sure look at my sig rig, i have a q6600 OCed in my v350 with the noctua heatsink. RAM is totally up to you, ram hardly throws any heat out so its basically, whatever you need in that category.

I also agree about what freeze said.

thanks guys, so those 2 motherboards wud fit in the case then?? n i dout ill need noise foam either wud i :S:S:S:S:S

any matx board will fit in a matx case, by noise foam do you mean dampening? lol, if your noise concious then go for it, but i doubt youll need it. just try your setup first, see if the sound level is good for you, if not try some dampening and etc, check out silentpcreview.com for all your silent needs.

ty for the link dude, ill have a look now, just need a honest opinion the v350 or the a05???
well they arent really in the same class at all lol, v350 is matx and a05 is a mid tower for ATX, the v350 is obviously smaller. It really just depends on what you want.

well heres the list lol

GAMING
SILENT
COOL
yea but it depends mainly on size, an ATX system is full size, youll be able to fit the biggest components and cooling will be easier than the mATX scenario.

mATX is a little smaller than ATX and depending on what case you get, cooling will be harder, and some components might not fit (depending on case).

GAMING and SILENT works in both mATX and ATX, cool goes towards ATX because its bigger of course.

if you were to choose the v350, you can fit most full size GPUs (GTX series, 4870x2) but there are some exceptions like TOXIC versions of cards, check the v350 thread for pics and info. the v350 has a downside though, it has enough intake (2x120mm fans) but the exhaust is a problem, with only one 80mm fan to get the hot air out, what you can do is mod a 92mm into the backplate which should be hard, you just need to make a little plate.

heres my scenario, i have a v350, with 3 noctua fans (silent) i have a q6600 OC'd to 3.4 and load temps barely reach 60c, my ambient temp is usually around 30c which is knid of hot, but you also have to consider the fact that im on integrated graphics so thats less heat on my part.
