im building another pc because this pc is SHIT right now. tomrrow im going shopping in my retail computer store. these are the things i think im getting.


Pentium 4 530 3.0 W/ HT
2 x 512 Kingston
1x Maxtor 80GB 7200RPM SATA
sony 16x dvd reader
samsung 52x32x52 cd-rw
128MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) ATI Radeon™ X300 SE - "FOR FREE"

so what do you guys think?
im not going to be playing much games, im going to use it for a little gaming, like need for speed but NOT the grapic intense games. ALOT OF PHOTOSHOPing, and maybe 3-5 word windows open at the same time, while listeinint to my fav mp3. i dont really think that 1GB is a overkill because for the photoshop it requries a lot. so whatd you guys think?
 
I think you should possibly rethink your idea and try to figure out how much money you'd save if you go with a online store instead (www.newegg.com for example). Then, use that money and either get a better videocard (no NFS:U with that card,buddy) or more memory (Photoshop needs lots of ram, the more, the better).

You can usually save a bunch of bucks if you order online. Invest that money and you'll be happier in the end.
 
it doesnt matter, my uncle owns the store, so i am getting discounts....
and i am getting it for free, i dont want to pass it up...and i am only 15, i am on a budject
 
looks good, but I would suggest an x600 - the x300 is really the low, low end and I doubt you'd be able to play much of anything at a decent resolution

and I don't think it's that much more expensive, but if you don't think you'll play games, I wouldn't worry about it

and 1GB of ram is not overkill, especially if you're a heavy photoshop user
