I want to spend around $800-1000 on a new build. My system is getting dated and I need new everything except for PS, DVD/CD Drives, and Case.

I do game quite often, my most detailed game is COD4. I have been out of the loop for a long long time. I am currently using a Athlon64 3200+ and have 1gb of memory, and a 6800gt for a vid card. So i need to upgrade badly! I have been trying to search around for builds but can't find much.

I went onto newegg and put this together...tell me if all of this would work together..

RAM: G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ - Retail

VIDEO CARD: EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

HARD DRIVE: Western Digital Raptor WD740ADFD 74GB 10000 RPM SATA 1.5Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

This is just a tad more than I wanted to spend.....is there anywhere I can cut some money off?

ditch the 8800GTS320 for a 9600GT.

have you seen the EVGA 750i FTW board? its the updated chipset that the MSI P6N board you picked. clocks better than the 650i.

if you have your heart set on getting a Raptor then i guess i can't change your mind. you can save if you go with a larger 7200rpm HDD.

is this vid card ok?

Are you sure you don't need a new PSU or case. I believe most newer cards are much longer and demand more power too. You might want to check.

^ yeah, you can save $100 and grab a gigabyte DS3L if you can live without SLI.

also, go for the ram BizzIMO linked. its cheaper and its 4GB. that way you can have some money to play around with for maybe a better PSU (if you need it) or towards a better video card like a 8800GTS G92 512MB or aftermarket cooling.
