New PC Build Advice

The NH-U12S will set me back by $63. Thus my cost increases to $280 if I shift from i5-8600/K to I-9600K. I don't know if its worth the extra $280.

An alternative would be a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. I think you should buy a i5-8400 or i5-8600 with the H310 board and an aftermarket cpu cooler. This is because the one that comes for free is loud and you don't want that.

I am gonna stick with i5-8600 series.

1) In case I get i5-8600K at the same price as i5-8600 should I buy i5-8600K.
2) If I go for i5-8600K I will buy cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. Is that fine ? Even though I know I cannot overclock it using the H310 MB.

Now I was looking around and found out that for an extra $60 I can buy Samsung 970 EVO 500GB M.2 rather than Samsung 860 EVO 500 GB I was buying earlier. The speed difference is huge.

Thus I wanted to know if I should go for it ? However the H310M-H board does not have a slot for that. So what to do ?

1) yes
2) yes buy the EVO 212
3) the speed difference between those drives is huge in benchmarks. In real world usage the speed difference is more like 10%. I would buy the 860 Evo. Second thought I would buy a 500GB Crucial MX 500 as it's almost as fast as the 860 Evo but cheaper.

Great !!!
I will go for i5-8600K. I will also go for 500GB Crucial MX 500 instead of Evo.

On the MB front since I am not going for M2 ssd and neither I am overclocking I will go for H310 MB. However in case I decide to go for a better board can you recommend me one hat is better than H310 but not as expensive as Z390 series. (Something in the middle)

I have a fondness for MSI so I'm going to say the MSI B360 Gaming Plus. The Asrock B360M Pro4 is also well regarded. The Gigabyte B360 Aorus Gaming 3 is another option. The Asus ROG Strix B360-F Gaming would also do the job.

Any of those boards would work for your build.

Thank you. Except for Asrock B360M Pro 4 the other boards cost almost as much as a Z370 / Z390 board here.
