New overclock, any good?

Decent, but if I were you I'd go for more overclock with more voltage, see what you can get with 1.75v in her.
 
Yeah, not bad and those are good temps, but I'd see if you can raise the voltage a bit and try to get some more out of it... A .2 ghz overclock isn't much for a 3.0c even on air.
 
It will post with more aggressive settings, but windows always blue screens, or the computer reboots, anyone that knows the bois for this board, know any good settings to use?

thats a d1 is it a sl6wk stepping? ifso you got a lot of headrom to oc my d1 sl6wk does 4ghz on air ;) 1.675 volts
 
I'd stay under 1.74v.... I remember tons of P4s dying of 1.75v.... :eek:
 
Those RAM clocks aren't very good. Up the voltage on the ram, and then lower the clocks. Either that, or buy the new ram that runs as if it was overclocked. That way, when you lower the clocks, you should be able to get a better OC.
 
i wouldn't really suggest going over 1.65v for your processor for a 24/7 overclock.

I think it is very unlikely that you will determine the max FSB of this processor running 1:1 with RAM rated at 3200 (meant to run at 200). Switch to a 5:4 CPU to RAM ratio, or even 3:2 to see how high that FSB can go.

Unlike Athlons, RAM timings don't matter as much as RAM clock speed for Pentiums. Of course, what really matters is how high that processor goes. Better to even underclock your RAM if it means you can OC your processor another 300-400 MHz. No way that thing should be crapping out at 3227 unless you got very unlucky in the CPU lottery.

Bottom line, the RAM running at 1:1 is almost certainly holding your overclocking back. See how high you can go at lower ratios, then buy some appropriate RAM if needed. The Corsair might be fine if you find the right ratio. But first things first: See how hight the 3.0 can go.
 
the ram was at 2.65 and i have no idea what the stepping is other than what cpuz tells me
 
When ever i try to overclock it now, it doesn't even try to load windows, it just blue screens.....

Your RAM hit its limit most likely...I'd set an FSB/MEM divider. Try 5:4 first and then increase the FSB again, should be able to keep the bandwidth high and keep high clocks.
 
Doesn't seem like it makes a diff, i can go to 216 and nothing over, doesn't matter what the rams on, tried alkinds of combo's.

anyone have problems with the 1016 bios?
 
1.65v and only a 200mhz overclock???

my 2.4c m0 can do 3.3 at default voltage
 
Is the PCI/AGP in sync with the fsb or locked at 66/33? 72MHz on the AGP bus is less than a 9800XT's typical max, but it is certainly a possibility.

No way your mobo FSB is limited at 216. I have exact mobo and it goes to 300 (at least).

Have you tried clocking the RAM by SPD? With the P4P800, that usually throws you into the right ratio when you overclock.

Again, at 5:4 you should be able to go higher.
 
ya set it to 66/33 and ram at 5:4 doesn't seem to do anything.

it almose seems as it's the bios...
 
Hey dude, whereabouts in MN are ya located? I'm in St. Paul myself. Always good to see someone from here... ;)

I'm not sure if I missed it, but what is your VDIMM set at? A lot of times, you have to set it higher then default to get a good, stable OC. I ran my 2.8B processor at 3.2Ghz for over a year with everything at default, but in order to hit 3.4Ghz, I had to bump the VCORE and VDIMM both in order to get stability.

BTW, to everyone else; I've always heard you get the best performance from having the ratio at 1:1, but there are many people suggesting 5:4. I know you can hit higher like that, but why (other then for bragging rights)?
 
1) set your ram divider to 3:2
2) max out the latencies, 3-4-4-8 or something like that
3) fix the agp/pci bus
4) if you have a i875/i865 with GAT or PAT, set it to auto-normal-auto-disable-disable
5) start upping the fsb and stress testing till you find your max fsb.
6) after you found your max fsb then start messing with your ram settings and use memtest86 to see if the ram is stable. first start by switching from 3:2 to 5:4, raise your vdimm up a bit, maybe to 2.7 or 2.8. if that works, then tighten the latencies down slowly.
 
I am in St Cloud mn, and still no luck going any higher, tryed all different volt settings..
 
Well, my 3.2C seems to hit the ceiling at 3.5Ghz, no matter what else I do, so I understand what you're going through. Oddly, I can run it up to 219Mhz FSB with CAS 2.5, but if I have it set at CAS3, it won't boot at all, no matter what the FSB. Pretty odd. Definitely shows how every system is different.
