New or refurbished Titanium HD?

I'm about to buy the Titanium HD. I can get it $40 cheaper by getting a refurb. Is that a good idea, or should I just get a new one?

Also, should I install the official drivers or unofficial?

There are unofficial drivers for the Titanium HD? I thought the Dennis K drivers were from the Vista/Creative clusterfuck era.

You mean Daniel K? lol I had a PCI X-Fi Fatality that I got rid of a while back and there is a still a community dedicated to fixing Creative's drivers. I always used the unofficial but I never really had any problems with my X-Fi like everyone else. I like my HT Omega Claro Halo a lot better though.
 
I haven't had a single issue with the Creative drivers, Titanium HD, and 7 x64.

I can confirm that. Haven't had an issue with their drivers and to me PAX drivers sound better than creatives. They seem to be one of the only groups that are actually trying to fix the bugs in creative's drivers and improving in other areas. Just always remember to wipe the old drivers with Driver Sweeper when updating.

Back to OP, really depends on where you'll be buying the card from. Don't want to be throwing money toward a shady ebay seller that is going to be a pain if something goes wrong.
