New official X-Fi drivers...

...they may well be the beta ones just with "beta" crossed out, but they're up on Creative's site as of yesterday. Someone want to give me a spare X-Fi Elite Pro to replace my Audigy 4 Pro with?

These are a new set, nicely enough, ive been running em since last night, fidelity seems a bit better, no crackling popping bug, but then again, i never had that. There is a lot of "distortion fixes" in the changelog, and there is some clarity with high end headphones. It appears they tuned down their artificial signal processing a bit.

According to Creative the only thing they fixed in this driver over the older one (they have the same version number) is that it now installs on the Elite pro properly....

Which means they fixed the ASIO bug which is present on all cards.

[EDIT] Which I can confirm they did indeed fix the ASIO issues.

Aha. According to Creative the bug is not fixed and will be in a future update :

Well after further testing, it is some what fixed, more of a hot-fix. It no longer crashes the program, but ASIO still lags and becomes unresponsive.
