hey all, just finished installing my si-120 + a few 120mm fans
here's the result:
cpu_z_smartguardian.jpg

this is under full load, dual prime
how are the temps on it? do these seem normal?
i have an si-120 with a coolermaster red LED fan on it rated at 44cfm
i also have 1 120mm intake, 1 80mm intake and 1 120mm exhaust
al the 120mm are the same as the coolermaster and the 80mm is 23cfm i believe
thanks :D

thanks :D
now all i gota do is find some way to hook up a fan to cool my ballistix which are running at 47C under dual prime according to my thermal probe :(

48 seems a bit high if its a god heatsink. I get 40-32 @ 2.65ghz and 1.45v. On water but its not a great block. Also have oc'd 7800gt and NB in the loop.

EDIT : And DAMN!! 58* pwic!! I hear hot nf4 temps are what cause data corruption. You might want to consider doing something about that. My nf4 now sits @ 28c with water.... Water..... its the answer.

EDIT2 : WTf am i talking about, pwic isn't nb... geezz. dumbass...52 not too bad, but WAY too much for me.

hes using a very good heatsink but with a very quiet fan that moves 44cfm ;)

Put a fan that send some air over the aluminum heatsinks on the board and you'll see the PMW temp go down.

As for the chipset, I don't know what the voltage you are giving it but you don't need more than 1.3V. ;)

yeah, i gota hook up some fans so i can get some cooling on the PMW and the RAM :p
as for the voltage, i think the lowest the board puts it at is 1.5v for the chipset =|, ill check on it
also, for the heatsink, are these temps ok? first time putting on a non-stock heatsink and i just wanna make sure im making good contact and used the correct amount of compound :D
thanks!

EDIT:
btw, that PMW temp was at full load, dual prime
temps right now after about 2 hours of CS 1.6
35C cpu
45C PMW
52C chipset

damn i need find something for the damn chipset!! u guys think taking off the chipset cooler and applying some of the paste taht came w/ my si-120 would help?
i cant seem to find a chipset cooler that will fit w/ my GTX

I don't think it would hurt to replace the most likely shitty stock thermal interface material. If you decide to replace the chipset cooler, please make sure that your video card wills till fit and if it clears. If I remember correctly, my old DFI ultra-D barely fit my video card as the end of it went right over the chipset cooler.

Good luck.

yup, tahts exactly how it is right now
the card goes right over it leaving barely any gap and even goes past it!!!
would any of u know a good chipset cooler that would fit on this thing?

well, just rigged up a fan in there, heres what it looks like:
PC290108.jpg

temp is about 39C on the PWM and 37C for the thermal probe reading the ballistix :p
the fan has really helped but I think that the thermal probe is reading the RAM temperature kinda low. if you look close enough, you can see a white wire going straight to the Ballistix and popping itself right inside of them...and right above it is teh fan so im pretty sure taht its at that low a temperature because the fan is blowing directly on it
anyone have any more suggestions on how to cool those babies? i really wanna push up the voltage and get to 270 at these timings (ive tried it before but the temps were too high at the voltage)

Putting AS5 on the chipset instead of that thermal paste DFI used really does help. I went from an idle temp of 41-42C to an idle temp of 36 and an under load temp of 42 from 45-52 like you

well...off to dfi street to find that thread about removing the chipset
