I was recently looking for a netbook and noticed most netbooks no longer have ssd drives, which seems like step back. In fact I had a hard time finding any current gen netbook with an SSD drive. Are there any current netbooks that are sold with ssd drives?

Most of the early netbooks came with small and slow SSDs. These were not the speed-demons like the current SSDs you're thinking about.
I bought an MSI Wind 2 yrs ago; it was one of the first to have a mechanical HDD instead of an SSD. Personally I'd rather have an 80GB HDD instead of a slow 16GB SSD.
I think it's all about $$$. It doesn't make sense to put a (current generation) $200+ SSD in a $250-$500 netbook.

you know most of these netbooks have user replaceable hard drive and just buy a ssd to replace the one that ship with it.
Bingo
Grab an OCZ Agility or something like that and you're good to go.
