New mousepad?

Hey guys,

I currently have a G5 (blue version) and a QcK+ mousepad and I'm really happy with the performance of both. I'm looking for a new mouse and more importantly a new mousepad.

Not much to say about the G5, just a good mouse after having used ball and optical mice previously - maybe a little big for me originally but I've grown used to it. I like something a little less flashy maybe. For a second mouse I'd really want something a bit smaller for potentially using on the go. I am thinking the G9 fits the bill. I love the look of razor mice but I hear bad things when it comes to durability. I also know very little about their lineup. I'm not a crazy gamer who will mash on it for days - but I do partake occasionally and I use my PC every day. Which would you suggest if any?

I'm more interested in finding a new mousepad.

I'm way happy with the QcK+ (especially after having used really shitty pads) - was inexpensive, feels great on the wrists, glides nicely, is huge, grips the table, is near silent, doesn't ware my mouse pads at all and most of all has survived for quite a long time without needing more than the occasional cleaning. If you have a shitty mousepad, get it. Trust me.

I've read a few threads here and it seems like most people really recommend cloth and specifically this pad. This kinda bums me out to be honest.

I really want something really pimp like glass or something, but I don't want to spend $50 for something that actually performs worse and gives me more trouble than what I already have for $10. I would like not having to clean the fabric but when put up against noise, waring mouse pads, warping materials and uncomfortable textures or temperature issues I rather keep my $50. Have I already found the holy grail of pads?

I'm looking forward to any response but I would of course prefer the opinions of those who have tried the QcK+ at least. Please let me know all the pads you've tried!

hey just thought I'd give you my opinion as someone who has tried every mousepad under the sun. the qck+ is about as good as you're going to get for a cloth pad. I've tried the icemat glass mousepad and I've tried hybrid plastic surface/foam base pads and I've tried multiple rough plastic pads on plastic bases like the func and everglide. I've also tried a couple of metal mousepads. The worst mousepad was the icemat. It KILLS your wrist seriously and if your mouse doesn't have a smooth bottom it scrapes the glass like hell. basically if I were you I'd try out some hybrid plastic surface pads for something different like the No.ID pad

This is very much a personal preference thing. I've been using a Icemat/I-2 for the last 5 years, in my opinion it's the best pad I've ever used. The issues uncola has with it, can be dealt with fairly simply, Wrist pain can be controlled or eliminated with a simple wrist pad.
The noise and resistance of mice feet on this pad can be eliminated by adding silicon pads to the mouse (Icemat used to include silicon strips). If tweaking your mouse to get the best performance out of it doesn't bother you, this is a Great mouse, if it does you really need to look elsewhere.

5L and ikari. unless you dont like big mouse pads.

i just returned my logitech g500 today, high pitch sound come from it when its not moving annoying as ;asjkf.

All of those pads mentioned would be a worthy consideration the hybrid pads like the Noid's or even the 5l may interest you, but since you have a QCK already and it seems like you want to try something out totally different, the icemat is also a great decision, the edge's are annoying so you may want to pick up a wrist rest along with the pad. Cajunheat pretty much said it all, however I went back to cloth after using the icemat for a year or so.

I also have a G5 and QCK mini. It has a bit too much friction for my liking, but overall a decent mat. Previously I was using a QPAD, but they wear out after ~3 months. My next mat will be a Puretrak Talent, which gets rated as one of the best cloth pads at fpslabs/esreality. Every hard mat I've tried sucked.
