I have just bought a few new peices of hardware for my computer but I am having problems. I have a NF7-S motherboard with 512MB Kingmax DDR400 Ram, and a 3000+ cpu. I am using a 9600 XT all in wonder video card. When I start it there is a message with a blue screen from windows xp that says there is a problem and windows is being shut down. The problem is that it gives no error message. I would think that all the parts have to work since it got that far.

The RAM is in DMM3 and both power cables are connected. I had a EIDE controller that adds IDE ports but I took it out for now. I tried it with and without this.

I was using another motherboard and had XP installed. I changed the RAM, cpu, video card, and motherboard. I tried using the old video card but it didn't work. I have also tried safe mode but it still shows the blue screen. How can I get a more descriptive error message? Any ideas why I am getting this error? Thanks for the help.

You swapped out all your hardware and now you are trying to boot from the HD with the Windows install from your previous setup?

There is the problem. You need to format your drive and reinstall windows.

The error is coming from the fact that the version of windows you have installed is trying to communicate with you new MB using the drivers for your old MB.

Yup a definate reinstall is required...especially going from a non nForce board to a nForce board!
