Hi everyone! (1st message on this forum)

I want to buy a new monitor, 24'' or more, and I'm not sure where to start.

Here is what I'm looking for:
A good monitor to watch movies (DVD, divX)....plus the obvious Internet, Office, etc

I don't need a monitor for games.
I don't need speakers either.

I don't have any preference in terms of brands and I'm ready to pay the extra $ for a good quality product.

So here are my questions:
What should I look for in terms of specs to have a monitor that is good to watch movies? (is it the contrast, the "% Wide Colour Gamut", the brightness ...?)

Do you have any particular models you would recommend considering my requirements?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot HardwareGuru!

If there is only one person in front of the monitor, is a poor view angle such a concern?
(i.e. if you're siting right in front of the monitor and don't move)

Yeah, philip2 has a good point as the blacks on a TN panel will be more crushed and not really black as compared to the S-PVA BenQ FP241VW 24". Also, color production on a TN is more washed out vs the S-PVA panel.
