new moniter or vid card?

Cant deside, have an old IBM Aptiva moniter 17' that came with the old 400MHz 4 - 5 years ago, right now I have it on my amd 1800 with a gf 440 mmx, can't deside what to get first a new vidcard or moniter, cant get both but with the new games comeing out the system is a bit laggy, thanks for any tips
 
depends on how much you play games. Personally, I'd rather stick to games on xbox or console, and get yourself a new monitor. I spend WAY more time surfing the internet and stuff other than games. So having a great monitor FAR outweighs good video card.

but that's all coming from a guy with a 20.1" LCD and a fx5900.

New monitor.

The GF MX440 isn't THAT bad. It will still let you run most games -- maybe with the lowest detail and resolution, but you can still play. Plus, the card is only good for games anyway -- you'll only notice its crappiness when you're gaming.

The monitor, on the other hand, is crappy ALL the time. Whether you're on HardOCP, looking at porn, or writing a letter to your grandma, the display sucks (well, compared to a new one!). Get a new monitor... your eyes will thank you later.
 
MONITOR! you cant game with a super super shitty monitor that well, but ur card should be ok for older games i dink!
 
yeah I like to play a lot of games, and the new ones comeing out I want to give them a shot, I think ill get a new moniter :D thanks for the input
