I have been reading quite abit on the forums about the various Pros and Cons of a number of PSu's and have come down to the conclusion that good lvls on the 12V rail/rails is one of the main points to look for, (apart from Maker of course).
All in all the Tagan TG480-U01 came up quite well apart from a few hic ups, however now these are unavailable to me (live in New Zealand), but their newer model ending W01 is. The spec on this have changed to 2 rails on the 12 Vlt both at 20 amp, my question is does any one have any experience with this particular Psu Good/Bad or know of any reviews on the W01 as all I can find is on the U01.
The system I am putting together is an NF 4 Sli either duel 6600/6800 a cple of HD etc etc, so 480 seems to be a good power lvl without going extreme.
The common thread I read is you need at least 20 amps on the 12v rails for stability. I cant buy PCP&C down here or Zippy.
So your thoughts would be appreciated on that or any other Psu's that would fit my need, and to the regular posters keep up the excellant work it is very informative and helpful.

well most of the Tagans Ive seen are actually Topower P6 series supplies,
and its thus not suprising they are available down there
If they are a dual rail variety they might be the same as the Powerstream 600 watt,
then again they could be entirely different, epower used the Topower P6 Series only in the Tagan line, alot of the other lines where junk

if they are indeed Topower P6 supplies, they exceed spec with 3% load regulation and are reasonably rated at possibly 40C

I would point out PCP&C does ship internationally though

Thanks for the reply, I will look into both those points, appreciate you taking the time to respond.

might drop an email to dan

then there is OCNZ Im an old member there ;)

as far as the latest local scuttlebut

(there are also good linkage to Topwer in that article)

Thanks Ice, for the tips, I see yr knowledge also extends to the rivaly between Nz and Aussie ;)

I made the leap and ordered a PCP@C 510 Sli unit. As is often pointed out we can spend so much time and money on other components, yet resist the need to put in a quality Psu's.

Hopefully it will arrive this week, if the Aussie Mafia don't hijack it :D

Well thanks again for taking the time to reply.

well the PCP&C will auto recognize 230 there in NZ
but Id ask if you ordered it with the right wall plug?
(you might need to retail it)

I am indeed familiar with the "rivalry" (sort of a mild word :p )

didnt the Prime Minister of NZ say something about Kiwi immigration to Australia like
"Let em go, it increases the average intellegence of both countries." ? :p

I'll will have to send off a message to PCP&C about that plug forgot about that little matter

Migration all part of our plan for World Domination, Australia, then onto DisneyLand :D

the sooner the better ;)
but you better hurry up, wouldnt want you to miss bitch slappin Eisner :p
