Is it possible to to read a raid 0 configuration that I had with a gigabyte motherboard with my new foxconn motherboard? Recently my gigabyte mobo died on me and I bought a foxconn a7da-s board and im trying to atleast be able to read the drives to retrieve data. I put in the vista disc and I tried to load the raid drivers but its still telling me it can not find any vista install...so basically its not seeing the raid. The new board is the 790gx and the old board is nforce4 chipset. Any way I can get this data?

If you still have the gigabyte board you can always hook them back up to that, then get the data off them, unraid them, put the data back on, then switch them onto the vista and redo it there. Also, if you are doing hardware raid you should make sure you have that configured right on the mobo, if software raid then it's something vista should be able to do on it's own.

i moved from an Asus p5Q deluxe to an asus P6T Deluxe and it read my raid 1 and raid 0 drives just fine - even going from vista 64 to windows 7 64 beta....so id say you are probably safe
