New Machine, New SATA Problems!

Guys,

Got my new Neo2 Plat to post last night, and went through and hooked the 2 WD Raptors up to SATA 3/4 on the mobo but I keep hanging at the "Detecting RAID Array" step of boot.

BIOS sees the drives ok, and everything looks ok.

I had it working for a second, and started the XP Pro install. I got to the step where you F6, then give it the RAID drivers - after this it told me XP Setup had found a drive problem (or the drives were raw) and corrected it. Now I can't see the RAID BIOS at all, nor can I get back into XP setup.

My MSI Bios is V1.1, Running 2 sticks of OCZ dual channel plat rev2 in slots 1 and 2.

No other changes have been made in BIOS other than enabling SATA and the RAID functions.

Please help - I'm losing my mind here....

Just found that updating the bios to the latest revision on the mobo got me past this - new issue is that I see 2 partitions in XP setup. Is that ok?

Now for some reason the machine shows 2 partitions: c: as a 138.48GB partition (active), and e: as a 69.23GB partition (System)
When I try to access C:, it says C:\ is not accessable. Drive manager shows it as 100% free space.

Please help. I'm dying here.

When installing Winxp to a RAID volume, you HAVE To do an F6 install and use the RAID driver floppy.

When booting off the XP cd, hit F6 when prompted, then pop the disk in when asked.
2 drivers will appear, the raid storage class driver and the nvidia ide driver. You need to install BOTH of these for proper RAID0 detection during the text version of XP setup.

Thanks - did that. I hit f6 and installed both necessary drivers for the array.

Still have no idea on what to do.
