Was just over at the Lian-Li website and caught glimpse of their updated A77 full tower due out by "March 26". This case is a thing of beauty amd damn near close to the perfect case for me. They included three hard drive cages, dual 140mm top exhaust fans, eight PCI-e slots, 100% tool-less operation, and a massive hole in the motherboard tray . Also got rid of that distracting (in my opinion) display at the top of the original A77 and replaced it with their traditional "LMH" three setting fan switch. No mention of a removable motherboard tray though. Looks like a good one for you watercooling fanatics. Hopefully they update the A17 as well.

Check it out for yourself: http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=478&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=61

Looks pretty nice for cooling. I have the P50 armorsuit, and I wish I had a different case, and it shares some of the same features as this one. There's no anti-vibration kit on the side panels, which I thought wasn't going to be a problem, but all the time the case will start to rattle and I have to knock on the side to get it to stop. Also, the screwless optical drive mounts don't work; they're only on one side and aren't tight enough to keep the other side from sliding forward and backward. I still had to put a screw in mine to keep them steady. I also wish the motherboard tray was removable. Lastly, the fan filters are really annoying to clean and they're a bad metal mesh that frays easily. I don't want to scare you away, because in my opinion there isn't a Lian Li case that has absolutely every feature possible, but those are just some things to think about.

The front looks nice. But, take your pick, uni-body or frame, I wonder if the structural quality is falling off a cliff again, sadly.

Yeah I was never a huge fan of tool free operation. My older Cooler Master cases left a bad taste in my mouth with their weak and flimsy PCI-E clips and awkward sliding bay things. The extra time invested into using actual hardware to lock your devices doesn't bother me much as they give me peace of mind. Shame with the filters, they do look a bit finicky.

Don't get me wrong though, the PCI clips are awesome and steady as a rock, and I've always loved Lian Li's hard drive mounts. The PSU strap is nice but I'd never need to remove it.

I had the same issue with my V1100+, what I did was put electrical tape all along the edge of the frame that touches the side panels.

I've been too lazy to put something around the edges. I'm still dreaming of just fabricating my own truly modular case.
