In the market for a new laptop
17 inch..Intel I7? which one? Would like an ass kicker, I don't know the numbers
Maybe a toshiba
1200 to 1500 bucks
Need all the bells and whistles
Any suggestion would be great

Purpose of the laptop? Gaming?

I would recommend taking a look at Clevo/Sager laptops as a starting point - they offer good performance per dollar.

Didn't even think of those..Gaming is not a big factor, but one to think about.
 
I'd avoid Toshiba and go with a company with better customer support.

Toshiba laptops are nice-looking, decently-laid-out systems. But their construction tends to be a bit cheap, and they're somewhat prone to breakage. Toshiba tech support is rather unfriendly in general, but their laptop support is downright customer-hostile.

Also, if you EVER have to send it in for service, DOCUMENT THE COMPONENTS OF THE THING TO THE nTH DETAIL!

I've seen 15" laptops go out for a motherboard replacement and come back with the same bad motherboard and a 14" screen. Toshiba, meanwhile, claimed the machine was ALWAYS 14". Even AFTER being shown documentation.
