New laptop battery problems

I bought a replacement battery for my HP dv5t-1000 laptop. I put it in and things worked fine for about 15 minutes or so, then the laptop immediately shut off. I tried to reboot but the laptop was dead. I plugged the AC adapter back in and booted to windows 7 normally. I can see the battery there, it saids that it is plugged in and charging. Both BatteryMon and a utility called BatteryCare say the same. Things I have tried:

* checked for bent pins and bad connections on the battery
* uninstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method in device manager
* Did a reset on the laptop (unplugged everything, held the power button for 20 seconds)
* Reset to factory defaults in the bios

I am wondering what to try next. Any help is appreciated.

RMA it, reviews are good, might just be a bad one. Amazon makes it pretty painless to exchange em.
