Im looking for a good laptop to buy for college. So I can work and play games. I can only spend about 1,100 or a little more. Ive come down to two choices which are

http://www.abs.com/app/config.asp?mono=1850

http://www1.us.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/dare_to_compare?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

the abs has the 9700 and the dell has the x1300 and the x1400. I want to be able to play games like bf2 etc. But still do work. Which of those would be better? Any other suggestions for laptops would be good also. All help is greatly appreciated i'm not too familiar with stuff like this.

I also just found this site
http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/configurator.aspx?mid=158

If anyone has ordered from the two other than dell. Let me know if they are reliable. Sorry if its too much at once.

i just bought a inspiron 6400(e1505) and it shipped today. if you can wait a few days ill let you know how it runs BF2. i got it loaded with the duo core 2500, x1400, and a gig, with the upgrade screen. I hope to be able to play oblivion as well, we'll see though.

cheers

ok so here goes. got the lappy today. first impression was pretty good. i was pissed at how much shit they actually put on it. but i got the upgraded screen and im a really happy camper with it. i love small icons and font. keeps me alert when computing. i installed BF2 and oblivion, which also came today as well. i can both games with really good frames rates at full medium settings. bf2 was playable at full high, but not flying in a heli, that was choppy. i must say that playing bf2 on a decent computer was nice. this little lappy kicks the shit out of my desktop.

for 1431, full loaded, im really happy. im not sure how much eye candy your used to, but for me im not used to anything and it was a nice, make that a very nice surprize to see the eye candie.

while the 7800go is gonna be the best for gaming, the x1400 doesnt disappoint.

cheers

if you want some screen shots pm and ill get them up as soon as possible

yea thats what i was thinkin too, but i wasnt about to pay dell 180 for it. ill just get it from the egg

Dell always over-prices thier memory. Can't go wrong with Newegg.
