I know most people dont Like Koolance. But I do and there must be others.

So Koolance is releasing there new 1000 Watt unit

Well there are goin to sell the 5 1/4 bayunit seperately but it will be around $250 ( which is kinda of spendy)

And they are going to release an upgrade to the Exos 2 unit. It will be a new pump unit with the same specs as the 1000 watt unit. The tech said it would cost around $150 or so and the pump enclosure is a little taller then the current pump so it will have some kind of shroud around the top.
Those should be out next month.

Koolance's rating system is bunk, they could release a 5000W unit for all I care. All it really means when they release a higher wattage unit is that they might have slightly upgraded the pump or radiator so now they think they can dissipate more heat (yippie?).

According to their site, the only information they give as to how they came up with their mystery number is that the heatsource was kept at 55C in a 25C room. That is some shitty performance. Besides, I dont care if the unit can dissipate 1000W when my processor is at 55C and the fans are running in full tornado mode. I want to know what temperatures the unit can deliver under normal operating conditions....Koolance doesn't like to give that information for some reason.

Anyways, now that my rant about Koolance's rating system is done. The upgrade to the Exos is hopefully promising.

Where did you get the info on the Exos 2 upgrade? I would be intrested in that.
 
It's good news IMO.

I went with Koolance because the Exos-2 was regarded by several reviewers as the best pre-built external cooling system out. I also liked the fact that they had some interesting products for memory and hard-disk cooling. Now that I've been exposed to so many other options out there I *might* do things different if I started from scratch today.

My X2 3800 OC'ed to 2.79 Ghz after 8 hours of prime95 runs at 38-39C. Right now it is idling at 25-26C. With lots of people's OC'ed 3800's idling in the 40's on air I'm more than happy with how this system has performed. The room temperature is about 75F in my house. These temps are from the hardware probe utility provided by Biostar not the innacurate Koolance probe. I have a CPU block, a chipset block, and two memory "blocks" in the system, it all seems to work as advertised.

Someone mentioned to me in another thread that the memory coolers might be reducing flow rate so I'll be upgrading my Exos 2 to hopefully counteract that.
 
i happen to love my koolence system with all my heart :D , however i wont be buying the new one cuz my exos 2 keeps my 3200 clawhammer at 2.4/5 nice and cold at around 24 idle and 31 full load. mind you thats in a room about 80 degrees. i get much lower temps if im set up in the garage with the mini fridge included in the loop ;)
 
Dissipating 1000W with a deltaT of only 30*C is pretty impressive to me. I'd like to be shown that this unit can actually perform that task though...

Yea, we also dont know what the heatsource is. For all we know they could be taking out waterblock and just heating up the water directly with a heater/chiller unit. This would help them exaggerate the numbers even further than if they used a waterblock on a die sim.

Since they say the components of the system include the heat exchanger, pump, res, and control unit, I'm going to assume that the data (however erroneous it may be) is supposed to be independent of waterblock performance.
