My $10 keyboard from fry's had a unfortunate incident with my dog who thought it was a chew toy :(.

Since it is after finals I decided to get a new keyboard, your input would be appreciated. I don't play WoW so macro keys are unnecessary. I actually spend most of my time typing up papers, with the occasional FPS/RTS. These are two keyboards that I'm currently looking at:

dasKeyboard
$130

Apple Keyboard with numeric keypad $50

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Would not throw $80 at the logi when it was around for $30 like last week.

cool, is it possible to turn off the led back lights though? Sometimes I leave my computer on during the night and I think I would find all that light distracting.

The backlight is adjustable in 7 increments + off which are controlled by the FN key and up/down arrows or you can do a quick pick by holding FN+1-7 or 0 for off.

I picked up the Logitech Illuminated when it was on sale for $40 and I like the keyboard, but that's because I'm a fan of the shorter and softer key travel of laptop keys. So keep in mind what kind of switch you like for your keys.
