new Intel motherboard chipsets?

just out of curiosity, how many of your usb 3.0 devices are complaining because they think that usb 2.0 is too slow for them?
 
he knows. his question was when will intel release chipsets with onboard usb 3.0. but afaik, there are no usb 3.0 devices, so i guess there is no hurry.

That is why they took over my brain and made me post this.

I don't recall seeing any recent Intel chipset roadmaps and thought that someone here remembers them.
 
Is there ever suppose to be a ICH11R? I'm thinking sata3, maybe usb3, will be limited on a pci 1.1 1x connection. I'd wait until Intel came out with a compatible southbrige/pch that didn't bottleneck at least sata3.
 
a pci ex x4 or x8 add in sata3 and/or usb 3 card might be a good alternative when the time comes that we need such things.
 
I only mentioned USB 3 in the op but SATA 3 should be a part of their next chipsets also. Here is a tweaktown article on new Gigabyte motherboards with SATA 3 (using a Marvel controller) and USB 3 (using NEC). In it, they quote Gigabyte saying that they saw "up to 30%" increase in read and burst performance comparing a SATA 2 to a SATA 3 hard drive (didn't mention which models).
