I was searching around these forums to see if anyone had commented on the mini ITX form factor motherboards Intel were showing off at CeBIT. Since I can't find anything I'll post it here.

New Intel ITX boards

The second board shown there (the "Fly Creek" board) looks particularly impressive to me, with some potentially great HD playback, looking forward to seeing how it performs. The plan I have in my head is a very tiny (custom made case) htpc with perhaps an e8200 in it if I could cool it comfortably in a small space without too much noise. This is all hoping that the price wont be huge like it can be with non-intel branded intel socket ITX boards (They are about £150+ here in the UK).

Anyone else excited as I am about these? (Gotta admit, I'm an ITX junkie :D)

i LOVE to have the "Fly Creek" one with HDMI and Hardware HD decoding. Any idea how much it cost ?

Not a clue, hopefully less than $100. The d201gly mini itx they make with the 1.2 celeron you can get for 40 bucks, and that has a cpu with it (although the fly creek has far far better features in terms of hdmi, sata ports, chipset etc. so I very much doubt it will be that cheap)

I bet these will be over $200.

I dunno. If they priced these boards right, they could dramatically change the ITX market and take a decent share of it. Most of the reasonably priced ITX board have either a soldered low end processor, or a VIA cpu (which I'm not a fan of, but im looking forward to their isiah chip). I have a feeling that these things will be priced very competetively to really open up what is quite a niche market.

Still wishing for a mobile processor board that doesn't have the processor soldered on.
