E6850.........3.00 GHz.........1333 MHz.........4MB L2
E6800.........2.93 GHz.........1066 MHz.........4MB L2

'The upcoming Core 2 Duo E6800 will arrive clocked at 2.93 GHz—similar to Intel’s Core 2 Extreme X6800. The processor is expected to be Intel’s flagship processor for mainstream segments. Aside from the locked multiplier, the Core 2 Duo E6800 is identical to the Core 2 Extreme X6800.'

-The only upside to this imo is that the X6800 will go down to 450...550? Perhaps...Other than that..I doubt they'll be running at 45nm...Same chip..Just a tad faster...Bleh.

Sorry if some of you knew about this already.

same procs, lower FSBs....

that sucks..

the only real upside is that the Bearlake chipset might OC better, considering its stock FSB is higher than 975/965

Umm... higher FSB you mean right? :D

The e4300, due jan 2007, is pretty interesting. Runs at 200*9=1800mhz, so it should be 100% overclockable with ease, will be really cheap, and will overclock with cheap RAM too.

Someone buy me one, E6850 that is.

I've already got one:

I've actually lowered the timings to 4-4-4-12.

If you want an E6850, just get the E6600 and overclock it to 333 (1333FSB) :)

I think Intel is raising the FSB (keeping the multipliers low) so people can't overclock so easily like they're doing now.
