New Intel Chip - 64 bit?

Is this new Intel Pentium Processor Extreme Edition 840 chip a true 64bit chip like the current A64's from AMD? Will it be able to run the new 64bit version of WindowsXP? Better still, what the hell is EM64T?

Maybe this answers my question, from Kyle's review:
"Also worth noting is the addition 64-bit instruction code, as noted by the “x86-64” in the Instructions line. Intel’s official nomenclature for this is “Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology,” or “EM64T.” To utilize a 64-bit CPU, you will of course need the proper operating system. Windows XP Pro 64 Bit Edition is due out this year."

But I'm still kinda confused. :confused:

Can someone elaborate on "64-bit instruction code" and “Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology”.....

Basically EM64T is the same as AMD's AMD64 extensions... Or well, close enough that they can both run the same 64 bit software, just like 32 bit AMDs and Intels could.
