new iMac, 5K display

Very awesome. Any idea if the 5K iMacs can be used as a display with a PC? I hope Apple releases a 5K Apple LED Cinema Display soon.

The answer to your question is NO. You cannot use the 5k iMacs as external displays.

It would be interesting to see if they release a 5K Cinema Display... I have a feeling that if they were going/able to, they would have done so today.

No single external interface exists yet for connecting this display. DisplayPort 1.3 is the only spec that supports it, and no devices have it yet. The 5K iMac doesn't support Target Display mode (so you can't hook another computer up to it over Thunderbolt and use its screen) and Apple is unlikely to release a standalone display until their products have Thunderbolt 3 to incorporate DP 1.3.
