New IC7 bios 2.3

Hmm, decisions decisions.

I'm wondering if i should stick with my factory BIOS or if it would be of any advantage to upgrade?

Any significant changes/fixes?

everything was working fine for me.... a while back when I upgraded I was less stable at 3.6Ghz (300FSB)

I guess it doesnt really matter since I've cut back to 3.45Ghz at default voltage and it runs much cooler.

But "IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT!!" is a good saying for any BIOS. Videocard, motherboard, etc.

If your computer is working perfectly fine FOR YOU, leave it alone. The fixes are for people who mostly have different configurations that are having problems.

Thinking back to my Pentium 166Mhz (no MMX!) Toshiba desktop (yes toshiba made a few desktops) when I updated my BIOS for the 1st time since I had the system... (like 10 revisions later after the very 1st revision that I had) IT MADE A HUGE difference in system stability! But that was back when Pentium's first came out and I had EDO ram and Windows 95/98!

i upgraded to the 23 bios last night and after the upgrade i noticed that there is no option in the bios anymore to disable the onboard network card, can anybody else confirm that?

ive reinstalled the 22 bios

I flashed BIOS 2.3 last night. The option to disable onboard LAN is still there.

Did you clear CMOS after flashing to BIOS 2.3?

You need to ensure that you set factory defaults before you flash. If things like NIC and SATA are disabled before you flash, they will dissappear altogether afterwards.

No. I've upgraded to about three IC7 BIOSes with them disabled, and they are still there.

i reloaded the default bios setting then flashed and everything seems to be in order now :D
