new htpc build

i wound not sepnd the $$ on a 9400 matx board if you are going to get a discrete GPU also...

doesnt make sense... people spend $$ on a IGP bc they are not going to use a card....


get a cheaper motherboard like a G33 or something and add a graphics card to it.


ATI has hybrid crossfire and if nvidia has similar SLI and it turns off the 9800 card when not in use then my comment before is void
 
A few comments:

1. Go with a silient video card, especially since you will be using it neat a TV
2. Go with the e8400 and save a few dollars
3. Great memory can be had cheaper, keep looking - try corsair or ocz
4. I just installed the standard e8400 hsf and it is small and quiet. It keeps my cpu idol at 29 and maxes out at 60 during Intel Burn Test - why get another one.


Also be sure to check prices at zipzoomfly before you buy
 
the ninja mini is a great HSF that can be ran fanless of 45w CPUs or can be used to OC a CPU with a good 92mm fan....

I have a mini and its great, i use it fanless on my 5000+ BE X2 and will be adding a fan when i install my X4 9600 BE.
