Just wanted to throw up some pics of my PC with the new HSF's I installed about an hour ago.

This is the before shot

I'm sure it's all in my head but I feel like it's quicker now ( I know I know) but it makes me feel good to think it is ok! :D

Here is what I went from:
Stock AMD Athlon64 X2 4400+ HSF -----> Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro
Stock eVGA 7800GTX HSF ------> Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 Rev 3

It has quieted my case noticeably as well, just felt like sharing.

Do you game while sitting on that excercise ball? :p

That thing must be most excellently quiet now. I went from stock coolers to a Zalman 7700Cu and Zalman VF700Cu and what a HUGE difference. It helps that I unlplugged the NB fan, too. :D

Nice case!

Looks pretty good. I love silence as well :p . Im using the zalman 7700cu which is okay i suppose but at least turned down all the way its quiet. Cooling is not much better than stock though :(

haha no my girlfriend uses that physioball (sp?) while at her PC and then drags it into the living room (barely fits down the hallway) to do her Brooke Burke workout, dayum she is hot. I offer support while sitting on the couch drinking Mt Dew.

True, but at least it's dead-silent and does offer better cooling and o/c potential. :D

Nice! Mine should be here Wednesday.

Any particular reason you have the fan blowing to the front instead of rear?

Only the fact that the way it mounts thats the orientation. Now that I think of it I wonder I could just flip the HSF around 180 degrees.

I just figured you had the fan in a "pull" orientation. If you're pushing the air toward the front that ain't no good. :D Out da back, laddy! Out da back!

I'm pretty sure you can flip that HSF.

you can. ;)

and should!

I'm gonna shut 'er down and flip it around, will post new pics!

When I installed it I had the mindset from my old thermalright heatsink where I put the fan on so it would pull heat from the heatsink and out the back. I didn't even think twice about it lol DUH, stayed tuned folks...

Prrrrrdy. :D

Is that an aftermarket fan on the HSF or did it come with the Arctic?

it came with it, I've never seen a HSF like this one, it's "floating" I guess I'd say. It's susspended by these rubber grommet type things. I think it's a 92mm if I remember right. I went to FrozenCPU today and was talking with the guy there "Bucky" it was either this one or the Zalman 9500, this was half the price and all the reviews I read say it was a good buy.

My roomie has the exact same board and cooler with a 3800+ inbetween. Now that you've switched it the fan should cool the mosfets much better. He loves that thing, his temps went from 46 stock fully loaded to 36 loaded. Nice work.

Thanks for all the replies, I didn't get a shot of ASUS Probe (probe hehe) before I swapped the HSF cause I forgot but here is it from a minute or two ago. Am I on par?

Nice machine and heatsinks and everything, but what I'm really boggling at is the case. You should give it to me. :)

those temps look good. my DFI idles at 40-43, which isn't horrendous, but it bugs me. i think i'll have to live with it.

Wow, that seems like a low temp. Mine is idling at 40C and it scares me.

i have the same hsf its awesome. it keeps my opty 165 nice and cool at an idle of 28C. i love it and its sooo silent.

<puts case in a box to ship to ElektronikSeraph.....then ElektronikSeraph wakes up>

I wish I could find another case like this one. I believe I got it at frozen a few years ago, before they were properly setup for walk in customers. They had to check me out like I was a customer paying for shipping charge me, then they would refund the shipping. Actually when I was in there the other day buying these HSF's they have a pretty sweet showroom now showing off some cool parts.

So the room my pc is in has baseboard heat and it's been on the high setting which makes it pretty warm in here so I turned the setting down to low and the room is still pretty warm but my cpu temps dropped big time.

Wow, 25 and 26?!?! You, my friend, have a very chilly setup on air only. Well done! :D
