right now i got a stock heatsink i plan on buyin a new one soon so i can up my cpu Oo kekeke mobile ^ ^ anywho temps are kind high in teh 50's Oo so yea...im ganna gets sum as5 and a new heatsink but what heatsink is good?? ive heard the silent boost is good Oo but eh gimme sum ideas i gotta buy new psu too..thats on another thread though lol
 
what kind of proc is it, what voltage are you planning to run it at? Is noise an issue?
 
noise isnt a issue for me lol my voltage will be prolly about 1.7 maybe a lil higher its a mobile 2400 so yea
 
I'm using a zalman 7000alcu heatsink and its running at maximum speed which i can say is still extremely quiet. I also have a mobile 2400 clocked at 12X200 at 1.7 volts. I idle at 33 and load around 44-45. They are pretty cheap newegg 40shipped and zipzoomfly has them for 34 or 36 shipped. I reccomend this cooler to anyone looking for a cheap and effective cooling solution.
 
nice hmm i think ill check that out at newegg Oo i should be gettin sum cash soon...gotta wait cause im 14 lol but yea ill definatly check that one out
 
Being 14 isn't an excuse for your spelling. In general, people respond better to posts that use sentences and at least semi-proper english.


with that said, that zalman HSF is good, the all copper one is even better if you'll pay for it.

well said friend, and i too recommend the Zalman. I have a Zalman cooling my 2400+XP-M and on high it isnt too quiet but it keeps my proc cool at ~45C with 1.8 volts
 
I agree with the suggestions of members above about the Zalmans with a warning: They just don't work out of the box with some motherboard layouts (clearance to surrounding parts) I had to modify the mounting bar and reverse the standoffs on an NF7-S, rendering it useless for anything but socket 462. The cooling and quietude were outstanding however, and IMO worth it.
 
I recently purchased the SI-97 due to the clearance issue with the Zalman. I was really eyeing the Zalman, but my proc is too close to my power supply for it to fit :(.
