I ordered the SLK-900(A) HS and an Enermax 92x25 Fan a few days ago, and i got it today. I put it on the cpu with the thermal paste, but im getting 49C temp... It is pretty hot in my room, id say upper 70s lower 80s Fahrenheit, but i was expecting to get low 40sC with the new HSF. I put it on correctly also, its not on backwards... Any idea whats wrong?

And the fan is on full speed.

Are you using a quality thermal grease, like AS5?

Is the fan blowing onto the HSF and not away from it?

Is there good airflow through your case (at least one fan in front for intake and another at the back for exhaust)?

Remember too that it takes a few days for the thermal grease to totally bond to the HSF and CPU. After that you should see temps drop a couple of degrees. At the end of the day, however, 49C is not that bad. Anything below 60C is safe, and below 50C is very safe. So if that's your load temp I wouldn't be too worried unless you plan to aggressively OC, in which case I might think about a different HSF.
