New Home Audio Setup Torturing Me!

I got everything setup and working as I intend now except the subwoofer. I have the subwoofer labeled on the receiver end plugged into the subwoofer back, the power is on for the subwoofer. It's about 1/4 between min and max level and I left the crossover at 50hz.

I play rock on the radio though and I hear nothin out of the subwoofer, even though I see it has power. I also check the output on the receiver and it's set to out from "Both" for bass out.

Sounds like HDMI is loosing sync. You may want to try better HDMI cables and or shorter cables where possible. Also, if you have a comcast (or another cable co.) provided HDMI cable you may just want to toss that out right now. A friend almost returned his brand new plasma since it was doing similar things to him, all with that pos comcast cable, he was also gettin audio stuttering. Gave my friend a couple monoprice HDMIs and no more problems.

That Viera is a plasma, right? Then it is not affected by speakers or magnets. Those warnings are for CRT tv's.

The Viera is an LCD TV.
I took the advice about the bad HDMI cable as I had a cheap one, and it's moved more forward one step and back one.

Good thing, my speakers now work fine, bad thing is my TV isn't showing the image....I'm pretty sure it's because my receiver can't upgrade a component in to an HDMI out. My problem is understanding if that means I could put a component quality signal through the HDMI or if I need another set of component cables.

Ok thanks, the cheap HDMI cable was killin the cable. I still have to try the PS3 tomorrow and will post back if I have problems. I really appreciate the help, it was very frustrating thinking I wouldn't get anything back the way it was even before after all day messing with it.
