New Hissing Noise

Background:
- This problem did not exist before I installed my 4890 vid card and new PSU this week.
- I have disabled HDMI audio out from my vid card so that sound will exit my motherboard via stereo cable to the audio in jack of my Klipsch speakers (and not to my monitor).

My problem:
- Hissing noise heard in my mic recordings from my webcam. (correction: It's a deep, bass humming noise, not a hi pitched hiss).

I read my videocard could be causing interference but I was wondering if there are other steps I could use (besides removing/disabling my vid card to see if it's the culprit) to fix this.

It could also be your PSU. It could be the transformer in the PSU if it's not properly shielded.

So far I've tried:
- Uninstalling Software/Driver, reinstalling latest.
- Muting all line in, mic, etc.
- Unplugging even powering off my Klipsch, router, cable modem, cell phone, HDTV coax antenna I use with my monitor.
- Took apart the camera, separated the shield farther away from the mic (in case it was too close) anywhere from a little bit to very separated...it had no noticable effect.

It was workin fine before I upgraded my psu/vid card so I'll try swappin back the PSU next...hope that's not the prob cuz I need it to power my vid card :(

Couldn't isolate the problem so I just bought a new Logitec headset that conects to the stereo/mic ports instead of via usb. Oh well. At least there's no problems there.

Yeah it could be a number of things. Most computer components are not properly shielded to prevent hums in devices.
