New hdd and must be FAST

Grab an SSD and instead of just downright installing everything, Symbolic Link the games you will be playing the most (and that will actually see any benefit of the speed due to massive loads) onto it.

I mean, Panzerboxb is entirely right, that is pretty much what i do, and if it was integrated into the steam launcher as someone said, even better.
 
A second 2TB HDD and raid 0 them

Unless your current HDD is a crappy 5400rpm drive

Then a 4TB WD Black should suffice

I wouldn't recommend RAID, the biggest bottleneck with HDDs is not throughput, but access time. RAID would only increase access time, not decrease it.

Even the cheapest crappiest SSD would be magnitudes faster than the best HDD in any conceivable configuration.
