mine arrived yesterday. they sound great overall, worlds better than the altec lansing headset i had been using before ;) but the problem is two fold. one, the treble sounds a bit 'spitty'...if you know what i mean. also at louder volumes they sound a bit strident or forced; im talking about 75% volume level on my Audigy 2ZS. if anyone has HD555s or knows about headphones in general, what would you suggest i do to combat the treble? or are these characteristics of the headphones themselves and ill just have to live with it?I have obvoiusly not let them burn in yet...would this solve the problem? my settings are flat EQ and bass at 32% and treble at 47% (in the surround mixer window). im not using an amp. ideas?? thank you.
 
Try leaving them on at listening volume for a few hours to break them in before you adjust the EQs. My HT speakers' manual recommended 24hrs of continuous playback, I'm not sure how that would scale down to headphones, however. There was a noticable increase in "warmth" and decreased sibilance after I did this to my speakers.

these take atleast 200 hours of burn in before they sound "good"

also an amp would help too
 
Bright = nature of the cans.
You will become acclimated to that after a while.
Strident or Forced = clipping from the sound card.
Audigys commonly start to clip at about 60%
 
Have you tried the hacked drivers? Also, as previously stated, I suggest an amp. Our own Mister X can build you one just PM him about it.
 
The hacked drivers are just for more EAX stuff. I push them mostly as a big middle finger to Creative. Anyhow. Can you send the headphones back? If you don't like them, you shouldn't keep them.
