ok i just installed my new hardrive its SATA 3.0 and im on windows XP

device manager detects my new hardrive but when i click on my computer i cant see it

i think i need to format the new drive but i dont know how can anyone help ?

You need to go to your control panel, and into 'administrative tools'... then click on 'computer management'.

Once this loads up select 'disk management' on the left side located under the 'storage' heading.

The right will now display your harddrives. Find your new harddrive in that list, right click on it and select 'format' ... choose ntfs and 'quick format' and once its done you'll be good to go.

cheers!
