New Harddrive

I've been thinking lately about getting a new harddrive for the system in my sig. I currently have an 80GB Western Digital SATA w/ 8mb. I was thinking about just getting another identical drive, but I figured I'd ask around first. I mostly use this rig for gaming and schoolwork. So here's what I'm looking at. Option one, getting an identical drive or another 7200RPM SATA drive. Option two, the 74GB Raptor, I know its a little pricey but if the preformance increase is significant enough over a regular 7200RPM SATA drive I might spring for it, and Option three being the new Raptor 150, might be a little out of my price range, I read the sticky (the with arguing about RAID0), but I figure I'd consider it. Anyway, just asking for some oppinions.

Also, what configuration would be best if I did get a fast drive. System and Page file on the fast drive and applications, games on the old 7200RPM drive? And what if two same speed drives, how would it be best to divide up page file, system and applications?

You'd probably be best off getting a 300gb or so sata disk, and using that to keep games on. The raptors are expensive, and the 74 is pretty much outclassed these days, so if you're not going to get the 150 it's not worth the extra investment.

 
i've been debating what harddrive to get next.

currently i have a 7200rpm 120gb sata drive, and the performance (loading maps in bf2) is way, way slower than i'd like. my only real options were to get a 74gb raptor and install just OS and games on it and keep other data on the 120gb drive, or get a WD SE16 250gb drive and put everything on it.

due to all the good reviews ive read about the se16 drives, ill probably get it. i keep seeing it put up good performance in reviews and such...and it's cheaper than a raptor.
