New hard drive unpartitioned itself?!

Got a WD 250gig 2 meg cache drive the other week, I partitioned it using windows computer management software in xp pro sp2 and a few days later the hard drive like unpartitioned itself and it's unaccessible from my computer...

Help me, I'm at a loss. Besides just saying it's a bad hard drive and tossing it...

Maybe try running the WD diagnostic tools on the drive.

Is the drive still visible to the bios and/or disk management?

Yes, disk management is what I saw that it was unpartitioned in. It just shows as an unpartitioned, unformated drive...
