new gaming rig

Hey guys... would like some input.

I am looking to buy a new gaming PC. I have been a build-it-myself guy for the last 10 years or so, and am ready to let someone else do the work. I am looking at spending around $3,000 to $3,500.

So far, I am narrowed it down to the following integrators...

Maingear: based mainly on HardOCPs recomendation, and good resellerratings.

Puget Systems: for much of the same reasons, and because I am ready to have a rig that doesn't sound like a jet taking off. Also, I live in the Seattle area, so I could go bug them in person if I have a problem.

Falcon NW: for obvious reliablity and reputation reasons.

At this point, price is not really a deciding factor, since when I spec-out what I want, they all come in at pretty close to the same (with a slight edge to Maingear). What I would like, is some input and/or insight into how hassle-free and reliable these guys are, and if there is something I am not considering that might tip the scales one way or another. Thanks.

well obviously all of the companies that you listed are great. I myself have not had experience with Puget or FNW but have had plenty of experience with Maingear.

I'm on my second Maingear F131 and cannot express how happy I am that I went with them.

My biggest concerns were warranty and service because honestly I am not that tech savvy.

After speaking to them on the phone and hearing accounts of how far they will go to make you a happy customer, I figured I would try them.

I'm sure you can find customers from every company to vouch for them, but in my honest opinion Maingear is a great choice.

all 3 are gonna be quality shops. I'd just look at differences in price and ongoing support.

Anton, since you live nearby, why not stop by and see us? If you can give me a heads up, I'll make sure you get a chance to meet everyone...a few of us will be at CES for the first week or two of January, but after that...we're wide open. It will give you a chance to see how quiet the PCs are...and you can take a look at the Aquarium PC we have up front. I'm in the process of finding a goldfish for it...fake, of course.

You won't go wrong with any of your choices, really. What we have going for us, obviously, is that we do produce a super quiet computer--but Maingear and Falcon are both awesome manufacturers and worth looking at good and hard.

Didn't you have the aquarium PC at PAX? I remember bugging you guys a bit. I still have to go to your site and see if you stock the WC gear I'm looking for as I'd rather local pick-up than wait for delivery. You guys did good with me a while back with a refurb PC-DL for a dual-xeon machine I had.

Yep, we did have that at PAX--it's a very popular draw, so we tend to take it with us to industry events. It's been a great conversation piece, and we've had lots of people try their hand at immersion building after seeing the aquarium PC in person. It really does look cool, and the mineral oil stays nice and clear.

I still have to go to your site and see if you stock the WC gear I'm looking for as I'd rather local pick-up than wait for delivery. You guys did good with me a while back with a refurb PC-DL for a dual-xeon machine I had.
